A working sundial-compass in heavy solid brass, with a hinged lid engraved on its inner face. Weighted to sit comfortably in the hand. Named for Frederick Selous, who carried one not unlike it from the Zambezi to the Veld and back.

Leather-mounted glass, with a fitted silver drinking cup that slides over the body. Engraved on the silver collar with up to four lines — a name, a date, the line his mother said.
